Logo designs for the PSG

Each year the Grade 9 IGCSE Art & Design students have a unit on logo design. This year our students had the perfect opportunity to practise these skills when we were approached by the Saint Maur Parent Support Group, who asked if we had any students that might be interested in designing a logo for them.

The students started by brainstorming and sketching out their first logo ideas. The logo had to communicate the collaborative spirit of the PSG.

The students then recreated their designs in Adobe Illustrator. This was the first time our Grade 9 students worked with this vector based software. To get used to the pen tool we used the Bézier Game.

The logo's turned out great and each student demonstrated their own unique approach to the topic. Two of our Grade 10 students joined in and created their own logo's for the PSG.

The logo's were sent of and the members of the PSG picked their top three favourites. During our annual Christmas Bazaar they invited visitors to vote for their favourite design. Demi's logo was selected as the winner and will be used for future PSG events!

We would like to thank the PSG for giving us this wonderful opportunity!
